Guy Fieris Flavortown Sauces: Our Review of All 9 Guy Fieri Sauces

Guy Fieri has slid his wrap-arounds onto the back of his head. He’s sharpened his frosted tips. And he’s smashing through your kitchen wall, Kool-Aid man style, with a saucy delivery for you. It’s his new line of Flavortown Sauces

While some celebrity chefs might be satisfied to put out one signature product, Guy Fieri is taking over your fridge and freezer. He recently released a full line of frozen foods, and now he’s come out with nine (NINE!) Flavortown Sauces in partnership with Litehouse (maker of some of the best ranch dressing on the market). Yes, of course that includes Guy’s Famous Donkey Sauce, but there are also BBQ sauces and other dipping sauces to complement his style of in-your-face foods.

Packaged in easy-squeeze bottles adorned with a picture of a smiling Guy, the sauces are now available nationwide for less than five dollars a pop. But which ones are worth buying? We tried each and every one straight off a spoon to find out. I am, admittedly, a bit of a Guy Fieri apologist (he kicked off his professional career in my childhood home of Sonoma County). But I tried my best to put aside my bias. Here’s the official Sporked review of all nine new Guy Fieri sauces.

Smokin’ Hickory BBQ Sauce

Everyone agreed this Guy Fieri BBQ sauce was right up there among the best Guy Fieri sauces—if not the best Guy Fieri sauce. It’s sweet. It’s sticky. It tastes like McDonald’s BBQ sauce with a touch more apple cider vinegar in the mix, which means it would be amazing on chicken nuggets. This is the Flavortown sauce I’ll be keeping nearby for all my dipping needs.

Mop Sauce BBQ Sauce

Mop Sauce BBQ SauceWalmart

Mop sauce is a vinegary sauce used to baste BBQ meats. It’s not traditionally meant to be eaten on its own. But there’s nothing stopping you from drizzling it onto your pulled pork sandwiches or ribs if you want that extra tangy kick. I didn’t get a chance to BBQ up a pork butt with this stuff, but, sipped off a spoon, it tastes about right. There’s a nice hit of black pepper, some good, fruity, vinegar notes, and spice. If you don’t want to make your own mop sauce, this Guy Fieri sauce is a good short cut.

Honey Mustard Sauce

I lived in Ireland for a stint, and, while there, I bought a mustard that I used on everything. It was creamy and tangy and so good. And then I realized why it was so good (and why I was gaining weight)—it had mayo in it. This sauce is a lot like that, but not quite as good. The ratio is off. There’s too much mayo-like stuff in there and not enough zesty mustard. That said, if you put it on a turkey sandwich, I wouldn’t complain.

Carolina Style BBQ Sauce

While most of Guy’s new Flavortown sauces are at least okay, this is the one real miss. It tastes like a Christmas craft store. It’s far too sweet and cinnamon spiced. I don’t want my meat to taste like a seasonal Yankee candle, sorry.

Kickin’ Chipotle Sauce

Don’t underestimate this sauce. It’s way spicier than most chipotle sauces. It’s kickin’, for sure. You instantly get a burn and that heat really sticks around. But, aside from the spice, it’s creamy. And it’s chipotle-y. My one note is that it has a touch of that fake liquid smoke flavor that I don’t love.

Top Secret Sauce

This creamy aioli is, essentially, Guy’s take on a burger sauce. It’s described as having “dynamite sparks of chili powder, subtle mustard, and garlic.” But it’s actually very subtle. It’s kind of more like a kicked-up mayo rather than a burger sauce, which I always associate with a melange of burger condiments, rather than just mayo. If this is Flavortown, then bring me the flavor!

Money Honey BBQ Sauce

This Guy Fieri sauce is more honey than BBQ sauce. I know that some people like to dip their nuggets into honey. I guess that’s who this Guy Fieri BBQ sauce is for, because it is mostly just honey. Gooey, sweet, dippable honey. I think the best way to use it is as a glaze on some grilled salmon or chicken or even wings. But, be warned, this is HONEY barbecue sauce. Not the other way around.

Famous Donkey Sauce

As much as I love Guy, I’d never actually had his Famous Donkey Sauce before this taste test. It’s garlic aioli. I don’t know what I thought it was going to taste like, but I definitely thought it would have more kick. Don’t get me wrong, it’s pretty good garlic aioli. If you gave it to me with some fries or onion rings, or squirted it on a chicken sandwich, I’d enjoy it. But I’m not sure it’s good enough to have its own mythos.

Poppin’ Jalapeno Sauce

New Guy Fieri Sauce!

Poppin’ Jalapeno SauceFlavortown Sauces

This was my personal favorite Guy Fieri sauce. It’s like creamy, pickled jalapeño tartar sauce. I’ve never tasted anything quite like it. I think it fills a white space on the market. What do you use it for? Fish, of course. Dip fish sticks into it or squirt it onto a fish taco. It’d also be great with fried potatoes of any variety. Some tasters thought it was a little too tangy, but not I. I’m all about that tang. Anyone will tell you.
